A Special Place in Hell for Senator Vitter

The politician who was involved with prostitutes is now airing one of the most racist ads in history against immigrant economic refugees:

This from a man that is hypocrisy incarnate, targeting undocumented immigrants for escaping poverty and committing a civil offense while doing so only to feed their families, while he himself broke laws to satisfy his own lust.

Not only that, but Senator Vitter has proven himself to have a terrible record regarding the advancement of Latinos in our society, starting with his stubborn vote of “NO” against the confirmation of the 1st-ever Latina Supreme Court Justice, Sonia Sotomayor.

In all honesty, Mr. Vitter is exhibit “A” of our society’s rampant ungratefulness for all the positive contributions undocumented workers, Latinos, and other immigrants have made towards our economy, especially in the state Vitter represents: Louisiana.  As previously reported by Economic Refugee, Latinos have had a major role in the recent cleanup of the BP oil disaster.  Also, as ThinkProgress points out:

In fact, Latino immigrants — many of them undocumented — have helped Louisiana get itself back on its feet. While half of New Orleans’ residents abandoned their decimated city after Hurricane Katrina hit and rebuilt their lives elsewhere, Latino workers were directly responsible for making 86.9% of households habitable after Hurricane Katrina in six parishes surrounding New Orleans in 2008. Almost 50 percent of the hurricane-repair workers in the New Orleans were Latinos and 54 percent of them undocumented. A study found that that if all unauthorized immigrants were removed from Louisiana, the state would lose $947 million in expenditures, $421 million in economic output, and approximately 6,660 jobs.

I don’t know if Senator Vitter reads the Bible, but there is a passage there that could very well apply to him:

Matthew 7:1-5
Judge not, that ye be not judged.
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

There must be a special place in hell for people like Senator Vitter but it is not up to us to judge him, it is up to God.  However, there is something we can do: do everything in our power to throw him out of office.  Read more on this on America’s Voice Online’s Blog and visit his opponents’ website.

Update: speaking of racist fear mongering, did you hear about Senator Vitter and fellow Republican Sharron Angle suspiciously using the same stock photos in their racist campaign ads?  Their tactics are so blatantly over the top that Stephen Colbert did a whole segment on it:
